The Northwest Trades Association is an organization of mainly construction trades persons:electricians,plumbers etc. that is based at Blaine Wa. USA and Vancouver BC Canada. Membership permits most [Canadian or USA Citizen] trades persons under the NAFTA rules to legally work in either country without special work permits and or labor market opinions. This is especially important when there are fires and or sprinkler floods in large buildings, like apartments, where restoration work must be on a 24/7 basis, in order to get persons back in their apartment homes as quickly as possible. In emergency cases such as described, additional emergency trades staff, are sometimes required immediately. Therefore the NAFTA rules are in place to expedite such trades staff for quick and easy entry through both USA and Canada borders legally, waiving other normal entry requirements. |
